“[Patients] do need to know that you don’t need to just rush to surgery, that you have time, you have time to make your decision…. even in the most advanced cases.” – Alex Scholz, CEO, PCRI |
Sorting through the internet for reliable sources and research can be a daunting task. Many men and caregivers often struggle to find prostate cancer information and research that is applicable and up to date. The Prostate Cancer Research Institute (PCRI) makes it easy for men to research their prostate cancer treatment options. Through weekly YouTube videos, a free helpline, blog posts, webinars, and much more, the PCRI provides many different channels for men to access expert-reviewed, unbiased information.
The PCRI also hosts two patient conferences per year: The PCRI Mid-Year Update (March) and The PCRI Prostate Cancer Patient Conference (September). This year’s Prostate Cancer Patient Conference takes place September 6-8, 2019 at LAX Marriott. These conferences are fully designed with the patient in mind. Leading experts discuss topics ranging from active surveillance to chemotherapy to lifestyle and men’s health and more. The Prostate Cancer Patient Conferences are organized by stage. The audience takes the staging quiz, and is separated into breakout sessions according to their stage: Sky, Teal, Azure, Indigo, or Royal. Once in these groups, the speakers talk about only the treatment options and new updates specific to each group’s stage. The conference is a great way to connect with leaders in the field, learn stage specific information, and stay up to date with the latest in prostate cancer care.
About the PCRI:
